As per tradition, the obverse of the coin depicts the Doge kneeling, with a staff culminating in a cross, receiving the blessing of Saint Mark. On the reverse, however, the blessing figure of Jesus Christ is depicted, inscribed within an almond-shaped frame, a symbol of sacredness and power.

Doge Ludovico Manin, who held office from 1789 to 1797, distinguished himself with a generous monetary policy, issuing an abundant coinage of gold coins. Emissions included doppie, zecchini, half zecchini, quarter zecchini, and ducats, but it was in the zecchino multiples that his particular liberality manifested itself, leaving behind some of the rarest and most valuable coins. Among these, the multiples culminating in the extremely rare 105-zecchino gold piece stand out, weighing a remarkable 367.41 grams. These coins, clearly intended for ostentation and not for daily payments, are virtually unobtainable on the market. Such highly sought-after coin blanks appear even rarer in smaller formats, such as the 10-zecchino piece, whose value and rarity are evident even in the "modules" considered more modest: to mint a 10-zecchino piece, a full 34 grams of pure gold were used.
